Jim was fantastic!

His mission was to make our ceremony personal to my husband and I and he achieved it.

He took the time to ask us many questions about ourselves and our relationship and brought it into our ceremony. He is a true professional and definitely engaged us and our guests with a bit of humour. Our friends and family had a wonderful experience with Jim as he made everyone feel included.

We recently had the honour of having Jim officiate our civil ceremony and my husband and I were very happy! Due to the pandemic, we had a very small intimate ceremony and Jim helped us from the minute we spoke and got to know him via Zoom until the end of the ceremony.

He is extremely passionate and thinks of every detail to ensure you will be left with a memorable ceremony and great ideas for the speech, the vows and of course the photos. Jim was so easy to work with and he ensured that we add a touch of humour and a small poem in the ceremony which helped our families feel so emotional and happy. His wonderful presence and guidance were exceptional. It was a wonderful experience, and he ensured every person at the ceremony would witness and enjoy the entire experience with us.

I first met Rinette Emerson at the Ottawa Wedding Show one year before my wedding date. She had such a calming demeanor to her, I came home and told my fiancé that I think I found our Officiant.

Fast forward 5 months and she met with us early on in our planning process after having to move our in-person coffee meeting to a virtual one due to COVID-19 and from our first conversation, we knew she was the Officiant we needed to make our special COVID wedding something we'd cherish forever.

From Day One of our wedding planning, Rinette was our rock. Getting married during COVID-19 was stressful to say the least, but Rinette came through like no other. She was extremely punctual and attentive throughout every step of the process. Even with our seemingly countless revisions to our ceremony script, she encouraged us to do what we felt was right and make it ours.

Having Rinette be a part of our very small home ceremony made all the difference. She felt like family that day, and when you change your wedding from a ceremony with everyone you know at your dream venue to a much more smaller, personal ceremony at your home, you want every person there to feel like family.

Our virtual and in-person guests had nothing but great things to say about Rinette! The most common was the fact that she didn't stand up with us during the ceremony, she moved around, let us be the focus, was never in the way of the photographer, and most importantly, she never let us forget when we needed to speak! She made us laugh, smile, and cry. She was absolutely amazing and everything we had envisioned.

Post ceremony, Rinette explained exactly what the next steps were, and even if we forgot, she was extremely responsive to our questions.

I wish that there was an option to give more than 5 Stars. We had a short engagement and was referred to Jim through a friend. He made time for us very quickly and accommodated our quick turnaround. From the very beginning Jim was beyond helpful. Everything from sharing the Do's and Don'ts, providing us with materials to help build our ceremony together, and offering useful suggestions along the way. We felt that he 'got us' from the first meeting. He is funny, charming, thoughtful, doesn't take himself too seriously, but takes his role very seriously. He loves love and it's infectious. Jim had big shoes to fill when one of our friend's was unable to officiate our wedding and boy did, he step into them! I can't recommend Jim enough. You would be missing out tremendously if you didn't at least agree to meet with him to assess the 'fit' for your day. Our day wouldn't have been half as special had Jim not been involved.

Jim Emerson was our officiant and he custom tailored our ceremony and helped us through the whole process; we can't adequately express how special and amazing he made our wedding day. Wedding days can be a bit stressful so having somebody like Jim by your side it's priceless. Jim is not only humourous and professional, but also super passionate about the true meaning of a wedding.

He worked with us to create a ceremony that fit our unique love story and went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding day was unique and enjoyable.
